San Diego, CA, October 27, 2005 -- Teledyne RD Instruments is pleased to announce a major purchase of acoustic Doppler products by Ashtead Technology Rentals. This represents Ashtead’s second major Teledyne RDI product purchase in 2005.

Ashtead Technology is the leading equipment rental company with offices located in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. The underwater Doppler equipment purchased from Teledyne RDI includes (7) acoustic Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs) and (2) 75 kHz Long Ranger Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) rated for 3000m operations.

Ashtead’s (7) new DVLs, standard equipment onboard survey ROVs operating worldwide, will be utilized to provide precision navigation and current profiling data for pipeline maintenance, subsea construction, and general navigation. The 75 kHz Long Ranger ADCPs will be used to provide precision current profiling data for a variety of deep-water oceanographic deployments.
