Paul Devine
Direct Telephone Line: +1-858-842-2671
Paul Devine is one of the few people on the planet who can say they've spent time studying tidal estuary hydraulics. His prior experience as a coastal engineer, which had him evaluating numerical wave transformations, contaminated sediment transport, and the evolution of habitat in engineered wetlands, gave him a perfect introduction to the end uses of the products he supports today.
Paul provides pre-sales support for customers working in the engineering, environmental, ecological, and coastal oceanographic fields. "Customers call me with a need, and and I help them find a solution," he says. " I listen, try to put myself in their shoes, and we work together to solve their problem. I really take ownership of my customers' projects -- and love the opportunity to apply my background experience to their current needs."
When he's not dealing vicariously with his customers' projects, he likes to surf at the mouths of rivers, an activity that he blames for his sinus trouble.

| Chief Hydrographer: |
 |
Doug Lockhart Direct Telephone Line: +1-858-842-2963
Doug Lockhart has joined Teledyne RD Instruments as our resident Hydrographer. Doug has taken on the scientific leadership for the bathymetric and sonar imaging product lines for Teledyne RDI, as well as our sister companies, Teledyne Benthos and Teledyne Odom. His primary objective is to interface with our collective customers to improve and enhance our product offerings in these areas.
Setting out from the ‘Big Sky’ state of Montana, to try his hand at fly fishing in Alaska, Doug caught more than just fish. His ten year fishing expedition gained him a degree in petroleum engineering and launched him onto the seafloor mapping and surveying scene. For more than 20 years Doug has traveled numerous places in the name of marine surveying and geophysics, helping with technical issues and being the ‘problem-solving guy.’
Teledyne RD Instruments is proud to have him aboard to share in the knowledge he has gained in this industry and keep him busy with new challenges. And while not as rustic as the mountains of Alaska, we are hopeful that Doug can continue developing new techniques for fly fishing in the bays of San Diego.

Hening Huang
Direct Telephone Line: +1-858-842-2708
Hening Huang is our expert in hydrography, holding a Ph.D. in Environmental Hydraulics from UC Santa Barbara along with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Hening also serves as Teledyne RDI's Far East connection; supporting our representatives and customers in the region, and offering training or demonstrations when needed.
Hening shares an understanding with his customers, as he was once a customer himself. He too remembers being amazed by the revolutionary ADCP technology and the ease of gathering a larger collection of data. This was a remarkable leap forward compared to spending numerous days on a boat collecting minimal data with the old style current meters.
Having spent many years using ADCP technologies and working with ADCP data for water quality modeling, Hening continues to use his background and knowledge to help with customers' applications and product development.
Although his focus is on the other side of the globe, he enjoys Southern California's dryer climate and diverse environments; which allow him to spend time gardening, fishing in the surf zone, enjoying sushi and practicing Tai ji all year round.

Product demonstrations are a great tool and being based in Florida he has everything from channels to rivers to the Gulf of Mexico to work with. And although the beaches in Florida originally enticed him away from North Carolina, he can easily be swayed to travel where needed to show off the ADCP.
When Dave does find a moment of free time, he takes joy in fishing of various kinds, home remodeling and will never pass up a chance to relax alongside a good dish of South American food.
