News from SECOORA Principal Investigators Alex Soloviev from Nova Southeastern University recently presented at the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics Conference held June 28 - July 7 2011 in Melbourne, Australia. The focus of the presentation was "Southward Flow Under the Florida Current and Coastal Countercurrent in the Straits of Florida." This research helps to explain the seasonal pattern of the coastal circulation on the Southeast Florida shelf and can be used to support search and rescue operations and coastal management applications.
